 Le français au Maroc

Illustrated talk by Dawn Marley

We hope many of you will be coming to the Guildford Rugby Club for Dawn’s lecture and to enjoy each other’s company! Dawn will be at the pavilion to make her presentation which will start at 7:30 pm but if you come early and/or stay late, you will be able to take advantage of the bar facilities.  Alternatively, if you are unable to travel on the night, you can watch the lecture on Zoom. A separate email with the link will be sent to you next week

Warm Welcome to our New Members!

We are glad to welcome five new members to les Amitiés: Simon-David Pressinger, Heather Kearon, Stephen Mallet, James Weaver and Carole Norris.

Another date for your diary: Friday 23 February at 10.00am

Although members enjoy our monthly meetings, many say they would like more opportunity to speak French. In January, we organised a Zoom session the day after our talk so members could chat about the subject in French. This was obviously not popular as only one member participated! This month, we will try something different. On Friday 23rd February, we propose to meet for coffee and an informal chat (no homework!) at 10.00am in the King’s Arms Hotel in Godalming High Street opposite Côte.  The hotel has a few parking places, otherwise Waitrose is nearby with free parking for 1 1/2 hours. We’ll have a room to ourselves and you can get a coffee or tea from the bar. This will be the day after the lecture so we should have something to talk about!  I would be grateful for those who can attend, to let me know by email so we have an idea of numbers. I hope to see many of you as it would also give me the chance to get to know you. Any comments on the venue, day and time or any other suggestions are welcome.
