Peter examinera et présentera des chansons qui ont réussi à traverser la Manche (ou bien l’Atlantique) dans les deux sens, et comment les paroles ont été modifiées pour prendre en compte les différences entre le rythme de l’anglais et du français, aussi bien que les normes culturelles. Il chantera plusieurs exemples et projettera les paroles sur l’écran, pour ceux qui aiment chanter.
Come and join us for a mince pie and listen to Phil’s entertaining presentation. As usual, the lecture will start at 7:30pm. Alternatively, if you are unable to travel on the night, you can watch the lecture on Zoom (link will be emailed to you more near the time).
Coffee and French chat: Friday 12th December
Come and join us for a coffee and a chat at the King’s Arms Hotel in Godalming High Street from 10.00am until 11:30am. You can arrive and leave at any time between 10am and 11:30am. Our chats are very informal and relaxed and we hope many of you will join us again!
