You are all invited to an apéritif with food and wine being served to celebrate another good year of Amitiés Françaises. The AGM will follow at 7pm and the lecture will start as usual at 7.30pm.
L’histoire du châle de Cachemire et du motif dit ‘de Paisley’Présentation par Odile Hughson
Venue: Oglethorpe Hall, Crown Court Car Park, Godalming GU7 1DY
Depuis ses origines indiennes, ce motif a fait le tour du monde et a décoré en particulier les châles des dames, depuis la Révolution jusqu’à la fin du Second Empire. Les événements historiques et la mode suivent le parcours de cette décoration que l’on admire toujours en Provence aujourd’hui.
Odile will be at the centre to make her presentation and we hope many of you will be joining us. As usual, the lecture will start at 7:30pm. Alternatively, if you are unable to travel on the night, you can watch the lecture on Zoom (link will be emailed to you more near the time).
Coffee and French conversation session: Friday 17th October
Come and join us for a coffee and a chat at the King’s Arms Hotel in Godalming High Street from 10.00am until 11:30am. You can arrive and leave at any time between 10am and 11:30am. Our chats are very informal and relaxed and we hope many of you will join us again!
