LES AMITIES FRANCAISES is pleased to present a song recital of FRENCH MELODIES given by BRIAN JOHN and accompanied on piano by JANICE SMITH.
The recital will feature songs from the golden period of the French Melodie, by composers such as, GEORGES BIZET; ERNEST CHAUSSON; GABRIEL FAURE; REYNALDO HAHN; FRANCIS POULENC; HENRI REBER; ERIC SATIE AND PAULINE VIARDOT.
Entrance is free, but there will be a retiring collection.

Event: Fête des Rois
Date: January 5th 2024
Twenty four members, and their friends, attended the Fête des Rois dinner at Côte Restaurant in Godalming.
After an apéritif offered by Les Amitiés Françaises, we enjoyed a starter and main course chosen from Côte’s menu.
As tradition dictates, the desert was the Galette du Roi, with the “fève” hidden inside to surprise “the King”, and “the gluten-free King”!
A wonderful way to start the new year!
Event: Fête Nationale
Date: July 13th 2023
Twenty four members, and their friends, dressed in red, white and blue, met at the Broadwater Pavilion to celebrate the Fête Nationale. After an apéritif of Cremant de la Loire, we sat down to a delicious French meal, of barbecued Lamb or Poussin, followed by Tarte Tatin or Fresh Fruit.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening!
